This protection is now integrated in the current generation of AB modules for the ST-70/ST-120 and others too. Protection includes fuses on the PCB AB and a protective varistor that switches at 18V to 20uS. After a short circuit in a tube, the fuse on the AB circuit board must be replaced at the point of replacement by soldering one strand of the fine copper wire (0.5mm) across the fuse pads, located as shown in the photo. Installation of the replacement fuse wire is easy, as the fuse pads are pre-tinned from the factory. The function of the varistor is reversible, and there is no need to change it after a tube failure
